Dr. Fitzgerald and her experienced team begins each smile consultation by taking a series of three photos of your mouth, allowing us to get a better look at your teeth and gums from every angle. Or, if you opt for a virtual consultation, you can do this yourself in a well-lit room. Just be sure to make sure the pictures come out clear and in-focus, and don’t forget to brush your teeth beforehand.
Posing similarly to how you would take a photo with your friends, this picture angle will allow us to view your smile up-close and from the front. We ask that your smile is centered and that we’re able to see both the upper and lower rows of your front teeth, known as your smile zone.
By opening your mouth and tilting your head slightly upward, we’ll be able to see the upper arch of your teeth.
You’ll open your mouth similarly to the last photo you took, but just tilt your head downward, allowing us to see behind your bottom row of teeth.
Next, you’ll have an opportunity to let us know what aspects of your smile you would like to alter or change. Do you have a damaged front tooth that makes you feel embarrassed to smile? Are you missing a tooth and want to have it replaced? Let us know all of these details, as well as any goals you have for the process, like if you want to keep it within a certain budget. Based on this portion of the consultation, we can create a custom-tailored treatment plan to meet your needs.
After you have taken all three of the requested photos, making sure they’re clear an in-focus, as well as written a short description of your dental concerns, you can email our office at frontdesk@sweetsmilescastlerock.com. Within about a week, Dr. Fitzgerald will evaluate your images and the personal response that you included. She’ll create a customized treatment plan based on your concerns, allowing you to feel more confident and comfortable coming in for an in-person examination to finalize your plan moving forward.
